Brooks and District Museum

1269 Sutherland Dr E, Brooks, AB T1R 1C7, Canada

Last month with the kids at home before school starts. Are you looking for fun plans?

Then check out the Brooks and District Museum.

They are a museum and a campground, how cool is that?!

So spend a couple nights in Brooks, visit the museum and learn about our favorite Famous 5, then learn about John Ware (the first Black cowboy in the area), and Sarah King (a busy midwife who helped deliver 170 babies in her home).

Onsite, they also have a historic one-room schoolhouse (complete with old-fashioned teaching tools), a train and caboose, and a Ford “A” Roadster Coupe (the first models of this car were built in 1928, meaning they were built before women were legally persons in Canada). Plus, don't forget to visit Cory the Corythosaurus, a replica of the real dinosaur found at the Red Deer River.

End your visit by camping on the grounds and visiting other nearby attractions.
