The Trailblazers Tour is coming to the Cochrane Public Library this fall.
From October 6th to 30th, meet the Famous 5 and discover the story of Emily Murphy, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Henrietta Muir Edwards, and Irene Parlby. Learn how these five women challenged the idea that women were not “persons” under Canadian law and helped change the course of Canadian history.
While you’re at the library, take some time to explore the exhibit featuring the maquette (a scaled bronze miniature of the Famous 5 statues), browse the shelves, and discover more stories about the people who have challenged barriers and helped open doors for those who followed.
The Cochrane stop will also include a special Persons Day celebration on Sunday, October 18. The Cochrane Public Library’s Tea with Trailblazers will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Rotary Lounge and is free to attend, with no registration required.
The Trailblazers Tour exhibit can be visited during library open hours:
Mon-Thu, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Fri/Sat, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Sun, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
