Celebrating the recipients of Today’s Famous 5 Ottawa awards.
Famous 5 Foundation Ottawa is proud to announce the recipients of the Today’s Ottawa Famous 5 Awards.
This year’s honourees are:

The awards recognize individuals whose leadership, courage and commitment to positive change carry forward the legacy of Canada’s original Famous Five — the trailblazing women whose determination helped establish women as “persons” under Canadian law.
“Famous 5 Foundation Ottawa is honoured to recognize this year’s recipients for the remarkable difference they are making in our community and beyond,” says Beatrice Keleher Raffoul, chair of the Famous 5 Foundation Ottawa. “Their work reflects the values at the heart of the Famous Five legacy: the courage to challenge the status quo, the vision to imagine a more equitable future, and the resolve to turn that vision into action.”
Through their advocacy, leadership and service, they are creating new opportunities, strengthening communities and helping build a more just and inclusive society.
“The legacy of the Famous Five is not simply a chapter in Canada’s history — it is a call to action that continues to resonate today,” adds Keleher Raffoul. “These exceptional individuals demonstrate that lasting change begins with people who are willing to speak up, lead with purpose and bring others along with them. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and the lasting impact they are having on Ottawa and on Canada.”
A cocktail reception will be held on Oct. 19, in partnership with Carleton University, to recognize these trailblazers.
The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Richcraft Atrium at Carleton University.
