Through skill-building workshops and events, the Future 5 Program helps young girls grow into Canada’s next generation of leaders.

We regret that we are not able to offer any of these programmes at this time.

The Famous 5 Foundation launched its very first 5-week Future 5 Program on April 16th, 2019. The goal of the workshops is to remind girls – ages 8 to 12 years old - of the inspirational story of the Famous Five while they embark on skill-building workshops and events, to help them grow into Canada’s next generation of leaders.

The workshop themes include “Curious” (Henrietta Muir Edwards), “Ambitious” (Nellie McClung), “Adventurous” (Louise McKinney), “Ingenious” (Emily Murphy) and “Courageous” (Irene Parlby) and are matched with female speakers representing various industries such as STEM, health and wellness, agriculture, construction and so on.

The 2-hour workshops will provide girls with ideas, tools and strategies for developing a strong sense of self, thereby laying the foundation for them to be true to themselves and to uncover their leadership potential.

WORKSHOP

The Famous 5 Foundation, in partnership with GirlPower, held workshops for girls ages 7 to 10 aimed at providing them with tools and strategies for developing a strong sense of self, thereby giving them the foundation to be true to themselves and to uncover their leadership potential. The girls were reminded of the inspirational story of the Famous Five while they enjoyed a legendary “pink tea” hosted by Famous 5 volunteers.

Power of you

WORKSHOP

Launched in April of 2015, The Famous 5 Foundation partnered with Young Women of Power to deliver a two-day conference each spring for girls ages 12 to 18. The conference aimed to build confidence through active group sessions on personal safety, inner beauty, and celebrating female diversity and greatness, so girls know they are more than enough.

The Young Women of Power event embodied the mandate of the Famous 5 Foundation, which is to inspire Canadian women and girls to embark on their own ‘acts of courage’ by becoming leaders of change and positively impacting the communities they live in. In 2015, we introduced a Famous Five Leadership Track that encouraged participants to focus on their strengths and leadership qualities so they will feel empowered to pursue their passions and achieve anything they want.
