Pink After 5: Bobbie Racette

More than a century ago, the Famous Five challenged the status quo by first convening with like minded women through Pink Teas. Today, we continue in that spirit with Pink After 5, creating space to hear from women who are shaping their fields and contributing to change in their communities today.

This fall, the Famous 5 Foundation is hosting four evenings that bring together leading voices and a small audience for thoughtful conversation and shared ideas.

Each evening is centred on a featured speaker and their work, with formats that may include talks, moderated discussion, and audience Q&A. After the formal program, guests are invited to stay, connect, and continue the conversation.

Be curious. Ask questions. Leave Inspired.

Bobbie Racette

Courage, Determination and Indigenous Innovation

Bobbie will explore how courage and determination can shape innovation, and how more inclusive approaches to work, technology, and leadership can create opportunities for people who have historically been overlooked.

The conversation will consider what it takes to challenge traditional ways of doing things, build with inclusion in mind from the beginning, and turn lived experience into ideas that can change industries and communities.

At Pink After 5, Bobbie invites guests to think about innovation as more than creating something new, to also question who has access to opportunity, whose ideas are supported, and what becomes possible when systems are designed differently.

About Bobbie Racette:

Bobbie Racette is a 2SLGBTQIA+ Métis-Cree entrepreneur and technology leader who has built her career around creating more equitable opportunities through innovation.

In 2017, she founded Virtual Gurus (later acquired in November 2025), combining human insight, machine learning, and technology to connect diverse talent with meaningful work opportunities while helping businesses grow. The platform was built with a commitment to creating careers for people often overlooked by traditional hiring practices.

Through Virtual Gurus, Bobbie helped demonstrate how more inclusive employment practices can strengthen businesses and communities while setting new standards for equitable hiring in the technology sector.

Her leadership continues to challenge barriers in tech and entrepreneurship and inspire others to think differently about who gets access to opportunity and how innovation can be used to build more inclusive systems.

Bobbie will release her first book, Never Meant to Win: The Rise of an Indigenous Tech Leader, in fall 2026.
