Canadian Federation of University Women Founded in 1919, the Federation is a voluntary, non-profit, self-funded bilingual organization of over 10,000 women university graduates. Members are active in public affairs, working to raise the social, economic, and legal status of women, as well as to improve education, the environment, peace, justice and human rights.
Famous Canadian Women This site, also developed by a female Canadian historian, has a wonderful Canadian Women's History Timeline as well as dozens of memorable quotations from Canadian women, both humorous and profoundly moving.
Heritage Canada This national, membership-based organization was established in 1973 to encourage the preservation of the nationally significant historic, architectural, natural and scientific heritage of Canada. It also seeks to stimulate the interest of the people of Canada in that heritage.
LEAF - Legal Education and Action Fund Inc. A national, non-profit organization committed to using the provisions of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to promote equality for women. LEAF has a two-fold mandate: to ensure the rights of women and girls in Canada are upheld in courts, human right commissions and government agencies, and to provide public education on issues of gender equality.
